Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and image quality while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records using Eaglesoft; accurately document medical and dental histories and treatment notes. Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions in a clear, friendly manner. Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation or coding as needed. Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment while adhering to infection control standards and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing dental and medical records. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices. Experience with dental imaging techniques including X-ray procedures Skilled in chairside assisting across various specialties such as prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry. Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety. Ability to operate dental equipment efficiently while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. Excellent communication skills tailored for pediatric dentistry environments; capable of explaining procedures clearly to patients of all ages. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy at all times. Experience working with EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft; comfortable with medical documentation processes including vital signs recording and medical records management.
