Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Austin, TX

Join our dental team as a Part-Time Dental Assistant with Occasional Front Desk Support duties during downtime. This position is ideal for someone comfortable working both chairside and at the front desk, helping ensure a smooth and efficient flow throughout the office while providing a positive experience for patients. Hours are Monday 8 am-4 pm, Wednesday 8am-4 pm, and Thursday 9 am-5pm. You must have experience of at least 1 year as a Registered Dental assistant/Dental front office . Responsibilities Assist the hygienist/doctor chairside during patient appointments, including preparing and breaking down treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and maintaining proper infection control protocols. Take X-rays for hygiene and recall patients as needed, and help keep clinical areas clean and organized. During downtime, support front desk operations by answering phones, checking out patients, and scheduling recall appointments. Ensure that patients scheduled for recall visits have the appropriate X-ray codes added to their appointments. Contact patients to schedule appointments when lab cases are received and ready. Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor while assisting patients both in person and over the phone. Requirements Dental office experience is preferred, whether in assisting or front desk roles. X-ray certification is preferred, or a willingness to obtain it if required. Candidates should be able to multitask efficiently between clinical and administrative duties, have strong communication and organizational skills, and be reliable, detail-oriented, and a team player.
