Responsibilities Assist dentists during procedures such as restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and efficiency. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Take and develop dental X-rays and other medical imaging to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, ensuring HIPAA compliance, and maintaining accurate medical records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Provide chairside assistance with aseptic techniques, vital signs measurement, and maintaining infection control standards. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical coding for billing purposes. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental health. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, X-ray taking, and infection control protocols. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic is a plus. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Ability to perform pediatric dentistry procedures and work effectively with children and their families. Knowledge of 3D scanners, medical imaging equipment, and endodontic or prosthodontic procedures is highly desirable. Certification in infection control practices and aseptic technique; CPR certification is preferred. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members including dental receptionists, hygienists, and specialists like orthodontists or periodontists.
