Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will support dentists during patient procedures, ensure smooth clinic operations, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and patient care. Your energy and enthusiasm will help create a welcoming environment for our diverse community members while contributing to their oral health and overall wellness. Responsibilities Assist dentists with chairside procedures in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental supplies, and ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools. Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support patient intake by taking vital signs, medical history, and explaining treatment procedures clearly using dental and medical terminology. Maintain infection control protocols and ensure all dental equipment is properly sanitized between patients. Collaborate with the team to deliver four-handed dentistry for efficient patient care and comfort. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental assisting procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with Epic is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry. Ability to operate X-ray machines safely while adhering to radiation safety standards. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical documentation, and medical coding practices. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages including pediatrics. Certification in dental assisting or equivalent training; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or endodontics are advantageous.
