Duties Assist the dentist during a variety of pediatric dental procedures, including exams, cleanings, X-rays, and restorative treatments Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in accordance with HIPAA regulations Monitor vital signs and medical history of young patients to ensure their comfort and safety throughout treatment Maintain accurate medical documentation and update electronic health records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Support infection control protocols by practicing aseptic techniques and adhering to OSHA standards Educate children and parents on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures to promote lifelong dental health Requirements Proven experience as a dental assistant with a focus on pediatric dentistry or general dentistry preferred Proficiency in dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and utilizing dental terminology effectively Knowledge of EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation Familiarity with infection control practices, sterilization techniques, and aseptic procedures in a clinical setting Ability to perform vital signs assessment and operate medical imaging equipment confidently Strong understanding of anatomy, dental terminology, medical terminology, and pediatric-specific considerations Excellent communication skills to interact compassionately with children, parents, and team members Join us in making a difference by helping children achieve healthy smiles!
