Dental Hygienist (Part-Time) - Payton Family Dentistry - Aiken, SC

In this role, you will provide preventive dental services, educate patients on oral health, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Schedule : Tuesdays and Thursdays, with the option to add additional days if desired, but not required. Responsibilities and Duties Perform dental cleanings, including scaling, root planning, and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar Apply fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventive materials. Assist with patient education on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans Expose digital dental X-rays with the Dexis computer Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, including charting, and periodontal measurements Document patient findings and procedures in the electronic health record (EHR) Review medical records for completeness and accuracy prior to procedures Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique Sterilize and maintain instruments and treatment rooms in accordance with OSHA and CDC infection control guidelines Education and Licensure Certification in dental hygiene from an accredited program is required; valid state licensure must be maintained Experience Strong understanding of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and anatomy knowledge Familiarity with dental imaging systems and vital signs monitoring is desirable New Dental Hygienist graduates are welcome to apply.
