Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment following infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology, including 3D scanners when applicable. Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Perform vital signs assessments and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and managing dental materials efficiently during procedures. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical records with precision. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and OSHA guidelines for safety. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare setting is required; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding enhances your ability to support clinical documentation effectively. Proficiency in using dental software platforms such as Epic, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft is highly desirable. Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry cases is a strong plus; understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures is beneficial. Certification in X-ray technology and familiarity with infection control practices are necessary for this role. Hands-on experience with dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and aseptic technique will set you apart.
