In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support and managing dental materials. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety standards. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring all documentation complies with HIPAA guidelines. Perform vital signs assessments and medical documentation for patients as needed, especially in pediatric or medically complex cases. Support administrative functions such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical records with precision. Maintain a sterile environment by practicing aseptic techniques, proper infection control practices, and understanding anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures. Qualifications Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in dental assisting duties and medical terminology. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Ability to perform X-ray imaging safely while following radiation safety protocols; certification in radiography preferred. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and clinical procedures across general dentistry disciplines including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and orthodontics. Excellent communication skills suitable for collaborating with team members like dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals. Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) is desirable; familiarity with medical coding and documentation is advantageous.
