Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to ensure optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions to develop personalized care plans. Assist dentists during procedures with chairside support, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and the importance of regular dental visits. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review documentation for accuracy, update medical coding as needed, and ensure all patient information is correctly recorded in accordance with dental terminology standards. Qualifications Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in good standing with relevant licensing boards. Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry practices. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding systems. Strong knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, anatomy, and dental assisting procedures. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
