Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Edgartown, MA
We are a small practice located in Edgartown on Martha's Vineyard that prides ourselves on providing great dental and customer service to our patients. As our practice is growing, we are looking for a full-time dental assistant who will make our dental office more efficient and pleasant for our patients. If you are diligent, dependable and have a strong work ethic - we would love to hear from you! Youâll help ensure excellent customer service and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the dentistâs shoulders. Dental assistants should be well-organized with great attention to detail. We expect you to be a quick learned and become skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible. Experience with all aspect of restorative dental procedures is preferred but we are willing to train a candidate with no experience and and help with obtaining a certification through state for the right person who would not be certified but is interested to pursue a professional career in the field. Compensation will be based on prior experience and/or certification. Responsibilities Welcome customers in the dental office Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed Sterilize instruments according to regulations Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry Undertake lab tasks as instructed Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked Schedule appointments Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures Skills Attention to detail Well-organized and reliable High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred Good computer skills Excellent communication and people skills Understanding of health & safety regulations Proven experience as dental assistant is preferred Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA)' 'Work Remotely No Job Type: Full-time Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour Benefits: Employee discount Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred) Experience: Dental Assisting: 1 year (Preferred) License/Certification: Registered Dental Assistant Certification (Preferred) X-Ray Certification (Preferred) Work Location: In person
