Full-Time Surgical Assistant, Surgical Tech, or Dental Assistant - Oral-Facial Surgery Center - Houma, LA

We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to join our team! Must be willing to travel between all offices: Houma, Thibodaux and Morgan City. Anticipates and assist doctor’s needs at all times. Assist in surgical procedures and maintain a sterile field. Ensures all patient’s questions are answered thoroughly before they leave. Performs clinical procedures as practice act allows and as directed by the doctor. Gives patients instructions and demonstrates when necessary. Disinfects treatment rooms according to OSHA regulations. Sterilizes all instruments and handpieces according to OSHA regulations. Organizes trays, instruments and treatment room drawers at all times. Implements a preventative maintenance/cleaning schedule for equipment. Keeps maintenance logs up to date. Maintains office emergency kits. Tracks cases and referrals to and from other doctors. Fully prepares patients for anesthesia and sedation. Ensures that all emergency equipment is readily available and in working order daily. Monitors inventory and orders clinical supplies as needed. Monitors inventory and orders medications as needed. Promotes team concept by interacting with others in the office. STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE : Begins work on time and has the office ready prior to the first patient’s arrival; stays until all daily tasks are completed and the last patient is discharged. Works efficiently and manages time wisely. Assists other employees as needed. Performs all duties without significant error occurring with any regularity. Represents the practice in a professional manner at all times. Works and relates cooperatively and exhibits effective communication skills with physicians, patients, supervisors, and co-workers at all times to assure optimum care for patients and to achieve standards of care set forth by the doctors and the AAOMS parameters of care. Adheres to all practice policies and procedures.
