Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while ensuring the highest standards of dental hygiene and safety. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, patient assessment, and infection control practices. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with both patients and dental professionals to promote oral health and assist in various dental procedures. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and vital signs. Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing using appropriate techniques. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care. Assist in the documentation of patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize EMR systems for accurate record-keeping and documentation review. Collaborate with the dental team in four-handed dentistry to enhance patient comfort and efficiency during procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Stay updated on advancements in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry practices. Qualifications Must be a registered dental hygienist in the state of TN. Proven experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred. Familiarity with Eaglesoft and Dentrix software is a plus. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes. Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge related to dental health. Experience with chairside assisting and pediatric dentistry is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and education. Ability to work effectively within a team environment while maintaining professionalism.
