Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent patient care abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of dental procedures and protocols. This role involves providing preventive dental services, assisting with patient assessments, and supporting the overall efficiency of the dental practice. Duties Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, while educating patients on oral hygiene best practices. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to ensure comprehensive care. Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control standards. Maintain accurate medical records and document treatment notes in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure infection control protocols are followed rigorously, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures. Educate patients on oral health maintenance, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification. Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and HIPAA regulations. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively within a fast-paced environment. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics. Knowledge of vital signs measurement, medical imaging techniques, and documentation review processes. Prior experience in dental office or clinic settings is highly desirable; familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial.
