Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Assist dentists during procedures by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and providing chairside support. Handle front desk duties including answering multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, managing patient check-in and check-out processes, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems). Verify insurance coverage, process claims efficiently using Meditech or Athenahealth, and perform insurance verification to ensure accurate billing. Manage medical and dental administrative tasks such as filing medical records, reviewing documentation for accuracy, and maintaining organized patient files. Support medical billing by coding procedures accurately with CPT and ICD-10 codes, reviewing documentation for compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain a clean, organized office environment while demonstrating excellent customer service skills to address patient inquiries and concerns promptly. Qualifications Proven experience in dental office settings or clinics with familiarity using dental software like Dentrix is a plus. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and health information management systems. Exceptional patient service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette and multi-line phone system management. Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations. Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with dental terminology and office management enhances your fit for this role. Active Dental Assitant certificate is required.
