Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Wilmington, NC

Overview We are seeking a part-time dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental studio. This position is ideal for a proactive individual who is passionate about sleep and airway dentistry, as well as cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry. Duties As a Dental Assistant, your responsibilities will include: Assist the doctor during a variety of dental procedures, including sleep and airway treatments, cosmetic dentistry, and reconstructive procedures Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all instruments and materials are sterilized and organized Take digital X-rays, CBCT scans, intraoral scans, and clinical photographs to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning Educate patients on treatment recommendations, home care, and post-operative instructions Maintain accurate and detailed patient records within the practice management system Seat and prepare patients for treatment while creating a comfortable and welcoming experience Support clinical efficiency by anticipating doctor and patient needs throughout appointments Collaborate closely with the clinical and administrative team to ensure seamless patient care Sit in on patient consultations and take thorough, organized, and effective notes regarding patient concerns, treatment recommendations, and next steps Assist in communicating treatment plans and helping ensure patients feel informed and confident in their care Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the dental studio while following all OSHA and infection control protocols Contribute to a positive, professional, and team-oriented culture within the practice Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and experience: Previous experience in dental assisting (preferred 2- 5 years) Familiarity with infection control systems and protocols is essential. Proficiency in medical documentation practices to ensure accurate patient records. Knowledge of advanced dental technologies, including intraoral 3D scanning, is highly desirable.
