Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for patient care, with expertise in preventive dental services and patient education. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in maintaining oral health, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring a positive patient experience within a comprehensive general dentistry practice that emphasizes pediatric dentistry and infection control standards. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to prevent and treat periodontal disease. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to inform treatment plans. Take X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and quality control. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories, and knowledge of Dentrix. Adhere strictly to infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness while assisting with medical coding for billing purposes when necessary. Uphold the highest standards of patient care by demonstrating excellent communication skills and professionalism at all times. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification. Proven experience working in general dentistry and perio. Proficiency with dental office management software such as Dentrix. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and medical imaging techniques. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security. Experience with EMR systems and documentation review processes for accurate record-keeping. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics.
