Job Overview Smiles By JB is seeking an experienced and motivated Dental Assistant II to join our growing private practice team. Our practice provides comprehensive dental services including general dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and prosthodontics. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures, including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric treatments Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners Take dental radiographs (X-ray images), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations Utilize Eaglesoft Practice Management Software (PMS) for charting, scheduling support, clinical notes, and patient documentation. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote optimal health outcomes Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures Monitor inventory and assist with ordering dental supplies Fabricate temporary crowns and take impressions as permitted by state regulations Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology Dental Assistant II certification and current CPR Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and four-handed dentistry practices Familiarity with PMS systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and accurately; certification in radiography preferred Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques within a dental clinic setting Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable.
