Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to infection control standards. Take and develop X-ray images with precision, utilizing digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners when necessary. Manage patient records efficiently using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Support patients by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and addressing questions to foster a positive experience. Maintain a clean and sterile environment through aseptic techniques and proper infection control practices. Collaborate with the dental team in four-handed dentistry to optimize chairside assistance, including handing instruments and managing dental terminology for effective communication. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical documentation and records. Certification in X-ray safety and proficiency in taking radiographs; additional training in medical imaging is advantageous. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience assisting with pediatric patients is preferred. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Competence in handling medical coding related to dental procedures and understanding HIPAA compliance requirements. Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a real difference!
