Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, patient care, and clinic operations. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists in delivering high-quality dental care, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining efficient workflow within the practice. Your role will be vital in creating a welcoming environment while adhering to strict health and safety standards. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring proper sterilization and infection control protocols are followed. Assist dentists during various procedures, including chairside assisting with general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry cases. Take and develop dental X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, while maintaining accurate medical documentation. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as r Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide patient education on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical history updates to ensure patient safety during procedures. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and coordinating with the dental reception team. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by following aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with Epic is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately and efficiently; experience with medical imaging is preferred. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous. Familiarity with dental assisting certifications or licenses required by local regulations. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, team members, and healthcare providers.
