Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatric dentistry, and general dentistry treatments. Perform chairside assisting with proficiency in four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize patient comfort and procedural efficiency. Take and develop high-quality X-ray images, including digital radiographs and 3D scans, following proper aseptic technique and infection control protocols. Manage medical documentation, including updating medical records, coding procedures accurately for billing purposes, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Operate electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to document patient information efficiently and securely. Monitor vital signs and assess patient anatomy knowledge to support safe treatment planning for pediatric patients and adults alike. Support the dental receptionist by coordinating appointment schedules, confirming patient appointments, and managing patient flow within the clinic. Maintain a sterile environment through infection control practices, ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized according to OSHA standards. Assist with medical imaging procedures required for comprehensive diagnosis and treatment planning. Demonstrate proficiency in dental terminology and medical terminology to communicate effectively with team members and patients. Experience Valid RDAEF license or certification with current registration in good standing. Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment with exposure to general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or pediatric dentistry preferred. Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records management and patient privacy. Familiarity with dental radiography techniques including X-ray safety protocols and 3D scanner operation. Strong understanding of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures. Ability to perform medical coding accurately for billing purposes while maintaining detailed documentation of procedures performed.
