Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, to ensure safe and effective treatment. Assist with dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while maintaining strict infection control protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment plans tailored to their needs. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain a sterile environment using aseptic techniques and adhere to infection control standards at all times. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification. Proficiency in dental software, particularly Dentrix is highly desirable. Experience working in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry settings is preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology. Skilled in chairside assisting, patient care, patient assessment, and documentation review. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and infection control procedures. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their oral health.
