Overview: We are seeking a skilled Dental Hygienist that can work Fridays and/or every other Saturdays to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in providing quality oral healthcare to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform dental cleanings, provide preventive care, and educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices. Duties: - Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, and polishing - Conduct oral cancer screenings and periodontal assessments - Take and develop dental x-rays for diagnostic purposes - Administer local anesthesia as needed - Apply fluoride treatments and sealants to prevent tooth decay - Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for home care - Assist the dentist during procedures by handing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment - Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories as necessary Experience: To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and experience: - Valid state dental hygiene license - Proficiency in using dental software systems such as CAD, Epic, or Eaglesoft - Knowledge of infection control protocols and practices - Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred but not required - Familiarity with medical coding for dental procedures is a plus - Excellent patient assessment skills and ability to identify oral health issues - Strong communication and interpersonal skills We offer competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications.
