Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting oral health. In this energetic position, you will work closely with our dentist and patients to provide thorough cleanings, assessments, and education while ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for every patient. Your expertise in dental hygiene, combined with your passion for patient well-being, will help us maintain the highest standards of clinical excellence and infection control. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to ensure safe and effective care. Assist during dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment plans to foster long-term health habits. Review and update medical records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support infection control procedures by maintaining sterilization standards, managing dental instruments, and practicing proper documentation review. Requirements Valid licensure as a Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments; familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control protocols. Ability to perform chairside assisting tasks efficiently while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care. Experience with vital signs measurement, medical imaging techniques, and medical coding practices is highly desirable.
