Cross-Trained Dental Assistant / Front Office Receptionist Job Overview: Our dental practice is seeking a versatile, cross-trained individual for a dual front-and-back office role. Working under the guidance of our Office Manager, you will split your time between front desk administrative duties and providing clinical chairside assistance to the dentist. This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys variety and handles multitasking with ease. Westchester Endodontics is a specialty dental practice focused on providing excellent endodontic care to patients experiencing dental pain. As the patient is our number one priority, we take care to create an environment that is both calming and free from all the negative stereotypes that a root canal always seems to invoke. We are looking for an outgoing, friendly, bilingual (Spanish, English) applicant who ideally has both front and back office experience. Front Office Duties: Greet patients, manage check-ins/check-outs, and answer phone calls. Verify dental insurance benefits, eligibility, and coverage limits. Assist the Office Manager with scheduling, recalls, and administrative tasks. Back Office & Clinical Duties: Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during clinical procedures. Prepare, break down, and sterilize treatment rooms and instruments. Take digital dental X-rays (requires active state certification). Maintain accurate patient clinical records and electronic charts. Requirements & Qualifications: RDA or an RA with · Active Dental Assistant certification / X-ray license (required by state law). · 8-Hour Infection Control Course: California law requires all dental assistants to complete a Board-approved 8-hour course covering sterilization, bloodborne pathogens, and safety protocols. · 2-Hour California Dental Practice Act (CDPA) Course: A state-mandated course covering dental law and ethics · Experience with dental insurance verification and front office workflows. · Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g., Eaglesoft). · Ability to switch seamlessly between administrative tasks and patient care.
