Expanded Functions Dental Assistant â EFDA Job Overview Our growing dental practice in Broad Ripple is looking for an experienced, positive, and highly organized Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our team. We are seeking someone who brings both clinical confidence and great energy to the patient experience. The ideal candidate is an EFDA with 4+ years of experience, strong attention to detail, and a genuine passion for helping patients feel comfortable and well cared for. Responsibilities As our EFDA, you will support the doctor and team in delivering excellent clinical care and a smooth patient experience. Responsibilities include: Assisting the dentist during a variety of procedures, including general dentistry and prosthodontic treatment Performing expanded functions confidently and efficiently within your scope of practice Preparing, sterilizing, and maintaining instruments and equipment according to infection control standards Taking and recording patient vital signs as needed Operating 3D scanners and assisting with digital impressions, imaging, and dental models Educating patients on oral hygiene and providing clear post-treatment instructions Using Dentrix Ascend or similar dental software for patient records and clinical documentation Supporting front office duties when needed, including scheduling, patient records, and day-to-day practice flow Ordering, organizing, and managing dental supplies Keeping operatories and clinical areas clean, organized, and welcoming Helping create a calm, positive, and professional environment for patients and team members What Weâre Looking For We are looking for someone who is dependable, experienced, and excited to contribute to a strong team culture. The ideal candidate will have: EFDA experience, preferably 4+ years Confidence assisting with a wide range of dental procedures Strong knowledge of infection control and clinical organization Experience with Dentrix Ascend or similar dental software Experience with 3D scanning technology, digital impressions, or modern dental technology preferred Strong communication skills with both patients and team members A positive, upbeat, and motivated personality Excellent organization skills, especially with supplies, instruments, and operatory flow A team-first mindset and willingness to help wherever needed A commitment to providing excellent patient care Why Join Us?
