Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring each treatment runs seamlessly. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools, while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic to ensure accurate documentation of medical history, dental terminology, and treatment plans. Support patient care by taking vital signs and medical history updates, facilitating effective communication between patients and the dental team. Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing medical documentation and coding for insurance claims. Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment by following infection control protocols and ensuring all equipment is properly sterilized. Qualifications Candidates should possess prior experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting procedures. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices is essential. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred, along with experience using X-ray machines and 3D scanners. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical coding ensures compliance with privacy standards. A background in pediatric dentistry or working with children is a plus. Excellent communication skills are necessary to effectively support patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism and compassion. Certification in chairside assisting or equivalent training is required; additional certifications in medical terminology or endodontics are advantageous.
