Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care, supporting both the dental team and patients. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take and develop X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety standards and patient comfort. Document patient medical histories, vital signs, and treatment plans accurately in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Manage dental records and medical documentation while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently. Requirements Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred. Proficiency in using EMR systems; familiarity with Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical imaging techniques is essential. Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus; ability to work well with children is important. Familiarity with 3D scanners and medical coding is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are required. Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
