Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal patient oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term health. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Support infection control protocols by adhering to sterilization standards, managing dental supplies, and ensuring a safe clinical environment. Qualifications Valid Dental Hygienist license with current state registration. Proven experience in dental office settings with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding for documentation review. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred. Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles and pediatric patient care techniques. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient rapport. Knowledge of infection control practices, anatomy, and aseptic techniques essential for safe clinical practice. Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration.
