Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Albany, NY
Job Overview We are a modern, high tech, and patient centered specialty office looking for a competent dental assistant who will make our office more efficient and pleasant for our patients. You will ensure excellent patient care and handle basic administrative and dental tasks. Dental assistants should be well-organized with great attention to detail. We are looking for someone who is skilled in providing both direct and indirect patient care and who is able to make office procedures run as smoothly as possible. Responsibilities Welcome patients in the dental office Prepare patients for treatments or checkups and ensure their comfort Select and set up instruments, equipment and material as needed Sterilize instruments according to NYS regulations Assist the dentist using 4-handed dentistry Undertake lab tasks as needed Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked Schedule appointments Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures Requirements Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not required. Proficiency with dental software such as Open Dental or Flex is highly desirable. Familiarity with infection control protocols and procedures. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude.
