Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental hygiene services including cleanings, scaling, root planning, and fluoride treatments with precision and care. Assess patients’ oral health status by reviewing medical and dental histories, taking vital signs, and conducting oral examinations. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options to enhance their understanding and engagement. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Maintain detailed and accurate medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times. Review documentation for accuracy, update patient charts, and assist with medical coding for billing purposes. Experience Proven experience as a dental hygienist or in a similar dental office role with knowledge of general dentistry practices. Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control standards, and HIPAA regulations. Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred. Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles and pediatric patient care is a plus. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs assessment, medical imaging procedures, and documentation review processes. Prior experience working in dental clinics or healthcare settings that emphasize infection control and aseptic techniques will be advantageous. Join us in creating healthier smiles!
