Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and progress Adhere strictly to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information and ensure a sterile environment. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings with proficiency in dental terminology and anatomy knowledge. Familiarity with Eaglesoft preferred Strong understanding of infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles to provide specialized care for children when needed.
