Join a High-Level Periodontal and Dental Implant Practice Rocky Mountain Periodontal Specialists is seeking a skilled, dependable Surgical Dental Assistant with hands-on IV sedation experience to join our specialty surgical team. After many successful years with our practice, one of our long-time surgical assistants has been accepted into nursing school, creating a rare opportunity for the right candidate to step into a well-established, highly respected role. Position Summary The Surgical Dental Assistant works directly with the periodontist during a wide range of periodontal and dental implant procedures, including IV sedation cases. This role requires strong surgical assisting skills, knowledge of sedation protocols, and the ability to maintain a safe and efficient clinical environment. Key Responsibilities Assist with periodontal surgeries, extractions, bone grafting, and dental implant procedures Prepare and monitor patients for IV sedation procedures Record and document vital signs accurately throughout treatment Set up and break down surgical rooms using strict sterilization and infection control protocols Prepare surgical instruments, implant components, and materials Provide detailed post-operative instructions to patients Manage clinical notes, treatment documentation, and supply inventory Ensure a positive, professional patient experience from start to finish Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of surgical dental assisting experience Current CPR/BLS certification Documented IV sedation experience in a dental or oral surgery setting Strong understanding of aseptic technique and surgical protocols Excellent communication and organizational skills Reliable attendance and punctuality Preferred Qualifications Periodontal, oral surgery, or implant experience DAANCE certification Experience with SoftDent or other dental software Radiology certification Ideal Candidate Traits Highly dependable and detail-oriented Calm and confident during complex surgical procedures Team-oriented with a positive attitude Able to anticipate the doctor's needs Committed to long-term professional growth Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive compensation package based on experience, including: Competitive hourly wage Paid time off Paid holidays 401(k) with employer match Health insurance contribution Uniform allowance Why Join Our Practice?
