Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of the dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Duties Assist the dentist during various procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays, utilizing knowledge of medical imaging and anatomy. Manage patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and accurate medical documentation. Perform chairside assisting duties, including passing instruments and managing patient comfort during procedures. Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft for efficient patient management. Conduct vital signs assessments and assist with pediatric dentistry as needed. Engage with patients to provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist with ordering as necessary. Collaborate with the dental receptionist for scheduling appointments and managing patient flow. Qualifications Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, with a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly desirable. Knowledge of four-handed dentistry techniques and infection control practices is essential. Experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus, along with skills in medical coding and documentation. Ability to operate a 3D scanner for imaging purposes is an advantage. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is preferred but not mandatory.
