Duties Perform comprehensive dental hygiene procedures including prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and fluoride treatments to ensure optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and dental charts to tailor personalized care plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies to promote long-term dental health. Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry practices using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including medical coding and medical records management. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials. Proven experience in dental office settings with familiarity in dental terminology and infection control standards. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and pediatric dentistry principles to effectively serve diverse patient populations. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs accurately and communicate clearly. Experience in pediatric dentistry and chairside assisting is a plus but not required.
