Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and dietary recommendations to promote optimal oral health. Assist with dental procedures by preparing treatment areas and providing chairside support during restorative or cosmetic treatments. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Review medical records and documentation to ensure accurate record-keeping in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with dentists to develop personalized treatment plans based on patient assessments and clinical findings. Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization of instruments and adherence to OSHA guidelines. Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and data entry. Support pediatric dentistry practices by providing specialized care tailored for children in a compassionate manner. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in the relevant jurisdiction. Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinic environments with familiarity in dental assisting procedures. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge relevant to oral health care. Experience using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation management. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a dental setting. Knowledge of medical coding practices related to dental procedures for accurate billing and record-keeping. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics. Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and interpret clinical findings for comprehensive patient assessment. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques used in dentistry for diagnostic purposes.
