Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics with precision and care Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly Support four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper technique and patient safety in accordance with HIPAA regulations Record detailed medical and dental histories, vital signs, and medical documentation accurately in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and knowledge of anatomy to prevent cross-contamination Manage patient flow by greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and updating medical records with accurate medical coding and documentation Qualifications Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting procedures and terminology Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic is a plus Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively Strong understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, and pediatric dentistry principles Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics Certification in dental assisting or related field preferred; ongoing training in infection control or radiation safety is advantageous Embark on a rewarding career path where your skills help transform smiles while working weekends!
