Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by evaluating vital signs and oral health status to inform treatment plans. Assist with chairside procedures, ensuring smooth workflow during various dental treatments. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive measures tailored to individual needs. Manage medical records accurately within Dentrix and Dexis systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support pediatric dentistry by creating a comforting environment for young patients and applying specialized techniques when necessary. Review documentation thoroughly to ensure accuracy in medical coding and record-keeping for billing purposes. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice clinically. Proven experience in general dentistry, with additional familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency in Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse patient populations. Experience with medical imaging techniques and understanding of vital signs assessment is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical records management, and medical terminology is essential for compliance and accuracy.
