Responsibilities Assist dentists with procedures pertaining to pediatric dentistry, ensuring precision and efficiency. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, maintaining aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Take and develop high-quality dental radiographs (X-ray). Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Dentrix Ascend to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and medical histories in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform chairside assisting during procedures with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow and patient comfort. Maintain a thorough understanding of dental terminology to communicate effectively within the team. Support infection control practices by sterilizing instruments and adhering to all safety guidelines. Contribute to a positive patient experience by providing compassionate care, explaining procedures clearly, and addressing patient concerns professionally. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a general or specialty dental setting; experience in pediatric dentistry is highly preferred. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures aligned with OSHA guidelines. Hands-on experience with dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines for comprehensive diagnostics. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various procedures like restorative treatments. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry practices and HIPAA compliance requirements. Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high-quality patient care.
