Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Dayton, OH
Position Summary: Good Neighbor House is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team. This individual will play an important role in supporting our dental clinic by assisting providers in delivering quality care to neighbors in need. The ideal candidate will be passionate about serving the community, work well in a fast paced environment, and be committed to helping patients receive accessible dental care with dignity and respect. Responsibilities: Assist dentists during procedures using four handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms and ensure they are clean, organized, and stocked Take and process dental X rays Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards according to OSHA and CDC guidelines Prepare patients for treatment and help ensure a comfortable experience Record and update patient information and treatment notes in electronic dental records Provide patient education regarding oral hygiene and post treatment care Assist with scheduling, charting, and other clinical support duties as needed Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs Support the mission and values of Good Neighbor House in all patient interactions Qualifications: Current Dental Assistant certification required (if applicable by state requirements) Must be X ray certified Experience and proficiency with four handed dentistry required Previous dental assisting experience preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with diverse populations Compassionate, team oriented, and mission driven Knowledge of infection control procedures and sterilization protocols Experience with electronic dental records preferred Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to bend, lift, and move supplies or equipment as needed Manual dexterity necessary for assisting during procedures Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) Paid time off Work Location: In person
