Responsibilities Assist dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, with a focus on chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, medical history, and explaining procedures clearly to ensure comfort and understanding. Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging devices while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Manage electronic health records using EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; ensure accurate documentation of medical records, dental terminology, and medical coding. Support administrative tasks including dental receptionist duties, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and maintaining organized medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Conduct X-ray procedures safely while maintaining proper radiation safety standards; assist with sterilization processes to uphold infection prevention standards. Collaborate with team members to deliver comprehensive pediatric dentistry services and support patients of all ages with professionalism and empathy. Requirements Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent licensure; prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred but not recommended. Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience with chairside assisting across various specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Ability to operate X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely; familiarity with vital signs measurement and basic medical imaging procedures. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards. Excellent communication skills for patient interaction as well as collaboration within the dental team.
