Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Conduct patient assessments by evaluating vital signs, medical history, and oral health status to inform treatment plans. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term health. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper medical coding. Maintain detailed dental records within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for seamless documentation review. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic environment. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and providing care for pediatric patients is highly desirable. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for charting, documentation review, and medical records management. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Knowledge of general dentistry procedures along with specialized skills in pediatric dentistry is a plus. Certification in dental assisting or related fields is preferred; ongoing education in medical terminology and medical coding is advantageous.
