Responsibilities Assist dentists during general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry procedures with precision and care Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring aseptic technique is maintained throughout patient visits Take and develop X-ray images and utilize 3D scanners for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for medical privacy Support the dental reception process by scheduling appointments, verifying patient information, and managing medical documentation Perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient evaluations Maintain infection control standards and ensure all equipment is properly sanitized according to OSHA guidelines Skills Proficiency with dental software including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Epic for managing medical records and documentation Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to accurately document procedures Experience with chairside assisting techniques in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics Ability to operate X-ray machines safely while adhering to radiation safety protocols Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures in a clinical setting Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and collaborate with the dental team Knowledge of pediatrics-specific procedures and considerations when working with young patients This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to advance their career in dental assisting while making a positive impact on patientsâ oral health.
