Key Responsibilities Comprehensive Chairside Assisting: Collaborate seamlessly with dentists in four-handed dentistry practices during general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric procedures. Clinical Preparation & Sterilization: Prepare and breakdown treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly under strict OSHA, CDC, and aseptic protocols. Expanded Functions: Fabricate high-quality provisional crowns/bridges, place matrix bands/liners, and take accurate preliminary impressions. Advanced Diagnostics: Capture clean, diagnostic digital radiographs (X-rays) and operate advanced dental technology, including 3D intraoral scanners and medical imaging devices. Patient Care & Advocacy: Support patient care by taking vital signs, clearly explaining treatment or post-operative steps, and addressing patient questions with empathy and professionalism. Practice & Records Management: Manage electronic medical records (EMR) accurately using Eaglesoft or Dentrix, including updating medical histories, documenting clinical notes, and coding procedures appropriately for insurance claims. Front-Office Collaboration: Support the front desk team by assisting with patient flow, scheduling appointments, and ensuring seamless daily operations. Required Qualifications & Skills Experience: Minimum of 2 years of active chairside dental assisting experience in a busy, high-volume clinic environment. Certifications: Florida Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification. Florida Dental Radiography certification. Current CPR/BLS certification. Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with EMR systems (Dentrix or Eaglesoft preferred) and a solid understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and HIPAA privacy regulations. Specialty Familiarity: Experience or strong knowledge in pediatric dentistry principles, endodontics, and prosthodontics is highly desirable. Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a diverse patient base, from children to seniors.
