Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures and patient care, with a focus on providing exceptional support to our dental team. This role involves assisting with various dental procedures, ensuring infection control protocols are followed, and maintaining accurate medical documentation. Experience with pediatric dentistry and endodontics is preferred. Duties Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, including endodontics and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary materials are available. Utilize 3D scanners for imaging and assist in the development of treatment plans. Maintain infection control protocols in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Document patient information accurately in Eaglesoft or similar dental software systems. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage patient records and ensure all medical documentation is up-to-date. Provide support in scheduling appointments and managing patient flow within the office. Requirements Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred, particularly in pediatrics or endodontics. Familiarity with infection control standards and HIPAA regulations. Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Eaglesoft. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Certification in dental assisting is a plus but not mandatory. A commitment to continuous learning and professional development within the field of dentistry. Minimum Qualifications Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology Experience working in a fast-paced and customer-centric environment If required under the state dental practice act, dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification Excellent communication and organizational skills The position will have access to minimum PHI necessary for performing job-related functions; regular HIPAA training, aligning with the specific role and responsibilities, will be required; and the individual will need to protect PHI and maintain data safeguards. Preferred Experience 1+ years of experience in a dental setting Dentrix or other dental software experience Dental assisting school certification Physical Requirements: Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
