Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance during pediatric dental procedures, ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for young patients. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various pediatric dental procedures, including examinations, cleanings, restorations, and X-ray imaging. Assist the dentist during various pediatric dental procedures, including chairside assisting during operative treatments utilizing nitrous oxide, oral sedation, IV sedation, and general anesthesia. Candidates must be comfortable with early morning start times on procedure days. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and materials to ensure smooth workflow. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with ADA and HIPAA regulations. Maintain accurate medical records and document all procedures using electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Training on the job is available. Educate young patients and their guardians on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures. Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures to uphold safety standards. Follow clinic uniform protocol. Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and assisting the front desk as needed. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques with experience in pediatric dentistry preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology relevant to pediatrics. Skilled in operating dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging devices. Familiarity with EMR systems for efficient record keeping and documentation. Ability to perform vital signs assessment and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures. Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and team members while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
