Duties Assist dentists during procedures such as restorations, extractions, periodontal dentistry with precision and care. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly using infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring accurate positioning and patient comfort while following HIPAA regulations for medical documentation and records. Manage patient flow by greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, updating medical records in EMR systems, and verifying insurance information. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and well-being. Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment by adhering to infection control standards and ensuring all dental tools are properly sterilized. Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as dental coding for billing purposes and managing electronic health records within Epic or similar systems. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging devices confidently. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical documentation standards. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
