Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain patient oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a sterile environment. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental clinic or office setting. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control standards aligned with HIPAA regulations. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care and communication skills. Experience working with pediatric dentistry is a plus, demonstrating comfort caring for children in pediatric dentistry environments. Strong understanding of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and medical imaging procedures relevant to dental care. Prior exposure to general dentistry procedures, including documentation review and patient assessment techniques.
