Responsibilities Prepare treatment areas with all necessary instruments and materials for various dental procedures. Assist dentists during examinations, restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments with precision and care. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR systems like Dentrix, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure safety and reduce anxiety. Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination in accordance with OSHA standards. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and assisting the dental receptionist with patient flow. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and applying infection control measures. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience working with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic is a plus. Ability to perform medical imaging procedures accurately using advanced equipment like 3D scanners. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills for explaining procedures clearly and providing compassionate patient care. Ability to work effectively in a team environment practicing four-handed dentistry for efficiency and comfort.
