Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to ensure optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to tailor personalized care plans. Assist the dentist during examinations. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to uphold the highest standards of safety. Review documentation for accuracy, assist with medical coding for billing purposes, and ensure all patient information is up-to-date. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a general or pediatric dentistry setting is preferred. Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices is essential. Experience working with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix will be highly valued. Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and documentation review processes is required.
