Our general dental practice in Smithtown is looking for a part-time dental hygienist to join our team. Thursdays 9-5 and Fridays 9-2 are the available days. The ideal candidate will have a calm, reassuring and friendly demeanor with a team-player mentality. Professionalism and punctuality are essential for this role. Responsibilities : Taking digital radiographs with digital sensors and using the iTero for wellness scans Reviewing medical history and having proper and complete documentation in Eaglesoft chart Completing hygiene exams, including periodontal probing depths, mobility, bleeding points Anesthesia certification Understands Soft Tissue Management and performs prophylaxis, SRP, periodontal maintenance as needed on patients Has knowledge and experience in laser bacterial reduction Providing tailored oral hygiene instruction with emphasis on educating patients' on home care and proper recall and preventative care Place sealants and fluoride on teeth Using Nitrous if needed Assist Dr with oral cancer screenings Maintaining and sterilizing instruments Cleaning and setting up operatory.
